FDT Group Announces Frame Common Component

fdtCONTAINER component becomes Frame Common Component for FDT 2.0

The FDT Group announces that it has signed a definitive contract with M&M Software to certify their fdtCONTAINER as a Frame Common Component for FDT 2.0. The first release of the cer-tified Frame Common Component is expected in early 2012. The ultimate goal of these com-mon components is to provide a pre-engineered and tested code base for the FDT standard in order to dramatically improve time to market and interoperability.

“By offering the vendor community a tightly coupled and well tested code base for both frame and DTM development, we are dramatically lowering the barriers for companies wishing to adopt the FDT standard. Yet we do so without restricting their ability to competitively differentiate their products,” remarks Glenn Schulz, Managing Director of the FDT Group. “M&M Software has been a long time supporter of the FDT standard so we are naturally pleased that they have been chosen to lead this effort. Mature prototypes are already being tested so we are highly confident in our ability to deliver in early 2012.”

Andreas Börngen, Director Sales and Product Marketing for M&M Software observes, “The fdtCONTAINER component will greatly reduce the overall cost of implementing FDT 2.0 in new frame applications or in existing systems. We are pleased with this opportunity to enhance our long term relationship with the FDT standard and the FDT Group.”

The new fdtCONTAINER  as a Frame Common Component will also support FDT 1.2.X DTMs thereby providing backwards compatibility with the installed base. Companies interested in in-corporating the Common Components may contact the FDT Group or M&M Software.
